Prince Article on Women in Science
The Daily Princetonian has an article about women in science on campus with quotes from two of our guests from last spring – President Shirley Tilghman (MOL) and Professor Jen Rexford (COS). The article also mentions some of the mentoring programs on campus, specifically in engineering. Worth a read!
Federal Government Helping Women in STEM
Check out this article from the White House about new policies and initiatives from the federal government to help women in STEM. Specifically, both women and men with new families can be given up to a year’s postponement of NSF grants. This is similar to what Princeton already does with their tenure policy, and seems like a step in the right direction. Also the general attention to the issue from the White House is very encouraging!
